VETERAN Deejay Errol Scorcher died yesterday.

The deejay who rose to prominence in the 1970’s with the hit ‘Roach Inna Di Corner’ complained of having a headache and died shortly after.

Born Errol Archer. he worked as a deejay on several sound systems from the early 1970’s.

His first single was Leggo Mi Hand Babylon and he went on to record several hits in the mid-1970’s including Jolly Bus-Ting and Engineers Affair.

he made further inroads into the entertainment circles with the 1978 single Peace Truce which hailed the peace deal between rival political factions that would culminate in the One Love Peace Concert.

Errol Scorcher also formed his own Scorcher label and produced his own work and that of other artists including Tony Tuff.
