(iARD Scoop) Reggae icon Burning Spear is calling all Jamaican artists to boycott Ernie B Reggae. The Grammy awards legend update his facebook wall in protest to unite against the reggae distributors, “they (Ernie B and Raul) bootlegging all of our music and trying to used the police to get us arrested. Time to unite it’s our music that feed them,” Spear lamented.
Burning Spear, born Winston Rodney alleged that Ernie B, Raul and Gary has a warrant out for his arrest which he is looking forward to contest in the court of law. “Now we will get the audit we keep requesting from Ernie B/EB Reggae and Raul will have to show that he as a right to do business in New York under the name Ernie B/EB Reggae and give us and audit turn over all computer records, Every bank statement, these people don’t pay taxes, manufacture and sell million of music all over the world.” says Rodney.
The musician in his plight of freedom for reggae music plan to sue for royalty owed and threatened never to do any more concert after a Miami show, “it’s over for Burning Spear we need to boycott Air Jamaica, Ernie B/EB Reggae, Gary/RAS Record the worse scam and bootleggers in the music industry,” Spear said.
He also stated, “Eveyone is asking for the release date of No Destroyer. This album will be released on the day Ernie B and crew is arrested, and his International house of bootleg close down. So Jah said is work shall be done.”
Burning Spear has been spreading the gospel of roots and culture reggae music worldwide for over 40 year and has won two Grammys in 2000 (Calling Rastafari) and 2009 (Jah Is Real), respectively.
