DJ Bounty Killer and his mother, Ivy Williams, at a church service after the entertainer had a run-in with the law.

RECORDED in 2005 on the Chiney K Production label, Mama Love was done as a tribute to the mothers of producer Paul Chin and deejay Bounty Killer.

Now, almost seven years later, the song has been re-released to mourn the passing of Killer’s mother, Ivy ‘Miss Ivy’ Williams.

“When Miss Ivy died, it [rereleasing the song] just seemed appropriate,” said Chin, who heads Chiney

K Productions.

The song has been receiving steady radio rotation and according to the producer, has taken on new life.

“The song has got even bigger and enjoying a lot of downloads,” he told Splash.

Ivy Williams died February 26 at the Medical Associates Hospital in St Andrew. She lost her battle with cancer.

According to Chin, she was like a parent to him.

“She was a real mother, she stood by Rodney all the way. She was a very nice, pleasant woman,” Chin said.

Bounty Killer (born Rodney Pryce) says Chin is just one of the many friends who have been giving him emotional support. He added that it has made it easier for him to cope.

“The love and support I’m getting is immense. Globally, people showing they care, especially my fans on Twitter and Facebook and all the other networks. I know people love me and my mom, but it was so surprising to the amount,” he told Splash.

Bounty Killer gave shout-outs to his mother in several of his hit songs, citing her influence on his life and career.

He says the thing he treasures most about her is the wealth of knowledge she gave him and his siblings.

“Every moment spent with her was memorable and amusing. Ask anybody who knows her, she is the greatest mom and not just for me but for everyone who ever come in contact with her,” he said.
