PULSE model Alexia Palmer is to appear in this year’s Chanel campaign. Images of the 17-year-old will be mounted all across London as one the faces of fashion’s renowned cosmetic lines.

Palmer, who was discovered in Pulse’s Caribbean Model Search, was the first Jamaican model to appear in Vogue magazine without being signed to an international label.

PALMER… the former student of Dunoon Technical High School in St Andrew is determined to reach for the stars

“This is a major milestone and a significant breakthrough for Pulse and Alexia and we are delighted that she was selected for this job,” said Romae Gordon, agency director.

A past student of Dunoon Technical High School in St Andrew, Palmer was elated on her newest achievement.

“This is incredible. I am so happy for this opportunity. I want to do my best and continue to reach for the stars. I have wanted to be in this place for such a long time and now I am here and I am overwhelmed,” she said.

“I believe in myself. I want to succeed and I am determined to make it this business that’s why I came to Pulse. And now, I have began to live my dreams,” she continued.

Mae Wayne, publisher of SHE magazine which Palmer current graces, had high regards for the model.

“She is a natural with flawless skin and a remarkable bone structure. It was an easy decision to have her as our cover girl for the first issue of 2012,” Wayne said.

Palmer won the second place in the coveted Caribbean Model Search in 2010 but had to complete her high school before embarking on an international career.

Having worked with the cast of America’s smash hit TV show, Glee for her Teen Vogue shoot and now armed with a Chanel cosmetic campaign, Palmer is looking to elevate her status to greater heights.
