UPDATE: According to the Mirror UK, Robin Gibb has entered the hospital once again to have emergency surgery on a twisted bowel. In a press release, Gibb’s representatives confirmed the Bee Gee’s latest procedure occurred on Sunday (March 25). The singer’s cancer is still in remission but he has had to cancel all upcoming public appearances short of his Titanic Requiem concert debut in London next month.

Just week ago, Bee Gees singer Robin Gibbtold the public that his cancer was in remission after doctors informed the 62-year-old performer he is winning his battle against colon and liver cancer.

“I am beating cancer and can’t wait to carry on with my work,” Gibb said, according to Sunday’s Daily Mail. “I could not have done it without Dwina [wife]. She has never left my side and is a wonderful person.”

Last year, Gibb was diagnosed with both liver and colon cancer which caused him to cancel some concert dates. However, in February he performed ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ and ‘I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You’ with military trio the Soldiers for a Coming Home charity concert at the London Palladium to benefit injured soldiers.

In an interview in early February with BBC Radio 2, Gibb said he was being treated by a “brilliant doctor” and the “results have been spectacular.” “The prognosis is that it’s almost gone and I feel fantastic,” he added. “Really from now on it’s just what they could describe as a ‘mopping-up’ operation.”

Given his current condition, it’s promising that Gibb could perform, or at the very least attend, the April 10 world premiere concert in London of ‘The Titantic Requiem, the new album he, son RJ Gibb and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ship’s infamous sinking.

According to the Mirror, Gibb is also slated to do a television interview with CNN personality Piers Morgan and has work commitments slated through this summer. The interview with Morgan is booked for April 17, the 100th anniversary of the date the Titanic was due to arrive in New York.
