First lady Michelle Obama is taking her exercise push to television on the weight-loss show The Biggest Loser— twice.
Mrs. Obama will appear on a two-part Biggest Loser“makeover episode,” airing April 3 and 10.
“The First Lady talks to the contestants about how adult behavior impacts kid behavior, congratulates the contestants on being good examples of health and fitness, and visits with each player and their family members,” announced the NBC program.
The program also features the programs “first-ever White House workout.”
Also from the NBC press release:
In part one, the makeover fun begins with fashion expert Jeannie Mai helping each contestant find stylish new clothes to flatter their slimmer selves. But first she shares a very big surprise — a special video message from First Lady Michelle Obama inviting the players to come to the White House.
Thrilled at the chance to go to the White House to meet with the First Lady, a longtime advocate for health and fitness, especially for our nation’s children, the contestants have fun choosing their makeover outfits with Mai. Next, they visit the salon of celebrity stylist Ken Paves, where he crafts stylish new looks for them and Clairol’s Creative Director, Marcy Cona, colors their hair before the players head to Washington, D.C. There, at the White House, family members are waiting to surprise them and see their amazing transformations in heartwarming, emotional reunions before they meet the First Lady.
In part two of the makeover episode, the contestants get to meet First Lady Michelle Obama, whose Let’s Move! initiative focuses on solving the problem of childhood obesity. …
Mrs. Obama also tells the contestants about PALA (Presidential Active Lifestyle Award), the six-week pledge-based program designed to get both adults and children more physically active and healthy.
She challenges the players to see who can get the most people to sign up under their names on www.nbc.com/pala after the episode airs and until April 25, and they later find out that Planet Fitness will donate $30,000 worth of gym equipment to the hometown of the winning contestant — so that their whole community can get active too! The winner will be announced at the finale.
