DETECTIVES from the St Catherine South Police Division are in the process of interrogating 44-year-old Wayne White, a broadcaster of an address in Harbour View, Kingston 17, following the attack on the life of his girlfriend, 28-year-old Jody-Ann Gray, a fellow broadcaster and journalist yesterday.

Reports from the Portmore Police are that Gray, who is pregnant with White’s child, drove up to her home in Portmore, St Catherine about 9:55 pm. As she was about to leave her motorcar, she was pounced upon by a man who shot her once in the face and twice in the arm.

The man then jumped into a waiting Corolla motorcar which was being driven by White, and tried to escape in the area. However, the police, who were on the scene within minutes of the shooting, intercepted the motorcar which had three men aboard.

Two registration plates made out of cardboard were found covering the original registration plates of the Corolla motorcar. When those plates were removed, it was discovered that the motorcar was registered to White and a woman who shared his last name, of a Harbour View address.

The police also seized a firearm suspected to be the weapon used in the shooting.

Gray is stable in hospital and her baby is said to be OK.

The other men, both from Harbour View addresses, will also be questioned by the police.
