SWITZERLAND-based up-and-coming artist Colin ‘Shocking’ Murray is urging players in the music industry to unite and work together or face losing it.

“Right now they [Swiss artists] are united and they have taken on to it. They love Jamaica’s culture,” he said.
Murray, who migrated 10 years ago, is in Jamaica working on some new tracks and promoting three singles Justice, When The Smoke Clear and Love Is Overdue featuring Iza.
Born in Snow Hill, Portland, Shocking Murray had an interest in music at an early age. In his older years, he met Michael Rose [of Black Uhuru] who introduced him to Squidly Cole, who in 1992 produced the songs Position and Heaven Holiday. They were released and distributed on the Tuff Gong label.
The song that, however, gave him his big break was Woman You Me Want, a collaboration with reggae artist, Antonio. The single’s moderate success inspired Shocking Murray to expand his career into Europe and while performing at festivals all across that continent he fine-tuned his craft.
