WESTERN BUREAU:
A male passenger who had to be subdued by other passengers aboard an American Airlines flight from Montego Bay to Miami this morning appeared to be “disoriented”, says the airline spokesman Dori Lopez.

Responding to Gleaner queries, Lopez, who said it was a company policy not to give out information on its passengers, said the man who was on flight 320, stood at his seat in the main cabin as the aircraft landed and was taxiing to the gate.

“He did not obey crewmember instructions to sit down and then moved toward the front of the aircraft where he was subdued. He was turned over to police upon arrival at the gate.”

The Miami-Dade police are reportedly investigating the incident.

Efforts to get information whether the man was behaving strangely before boarding the aircraft in Montego Bay were unsuccessful.

However, the policy of American Airlines does not allow it to accept any passenger who is behaving boisterous or strange.
