There's A Place

Northern California’s own Top Shelf is back with a new EP, “There’s A Place” packed with five tracks that showcase just how far this band has come since last year’s release of The Sound, which debuted at #9 on iTunes Reggae Chart and #15 on Billboard’s Reggae Chart. While the typical Rock/Reggae fusion sound you’ve come to expect from them is alive and well, Top Shelf continued to push their creative boundaries with this release. Incorporating more electronic elements that have brought a futuristic vibe to their productions, this latest EP sounds like it was brought back from the future to the masses in 2012.

As the EP unfolds, tracks like ‘There’s A Place’ pay homage to Top Shelf’s roots with a song packed full of that bubbling dub sound that has helped the band gain a following of hundreds of screaming fans who pack venues throughout the west coast night in and night out. ‘She Sings’ is another number from the EP that continues in the Top Shelf tradition of fusing rock and reggae, which is where the whole thing started. But Top Shelf isn’t a band that rests on just what works. Tracks like ‘Earthquake’ and ‘Save Me’ take elements of electronic music production and push the band to levels never seen before. Whether it’s the rolling synthesizers in ‘Save Me’ or the heavy electronic crunch of ‘Earthquake,’ the future of the Top Shelf sound is here, and they’re excited to bring it to a venue near you.

Top Shelf is no stranger to touring, either. Currently on the road as part of a 12-date romp across Asia with The Mystic Roots, you can find them taking their message of positivity to new continents, and earning new fans along the way. Top Shelf’s reputation for exciting and dynamic stage shows has also allowed them to play some high profile festivals and events including the Sublime Fest in Kona, Hawaii; the Spring Break Music Fest in Puerto Pinasco, Mexico; the California Roots Fest in Monterey, California and even the Summer Solstice Reggae Fest in Avila Beach, California – just to name a few.

With the release of their new EP “There’s A Place” you can be sure to see Top Shelf hitting the road in a major way in support of this release.
