WESTERN BUREAU:

Popular party promoter Gregory Fox Lindo, who is charged with obstruction of justice in dancehall entertainer Mavado’s recently concluded assault case, will return to court for trial on October 31.

When Lindo’s matter came before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning, the prosecution disclosed that defence attorney George Thomas has been served with all outstanding documents, including copies of a police statement.

Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small then set the case for two days of trial, between October 31 and November 1.

Allegations are that on July 26 last year, Lindo attempted to bribe the complainant in Mavado’s assault case.

That matter stemmed from an incident on July 22 where members of Mavado’s entourage reportedly assaulted the complainant during a dispute in Belmont, St. James.

The entertainer, whose real name in David Brooks, was found guilty on May 7 and sentenced to a one hundred thousand dollar fine or six months imprisonment.
