SINGER Ken Boothe is getting ready to release Journey, his latest album.
Recorded and produced at his Kingston home studio, the album, according to Boothe, is a statement on his life.

“All of us have a journey and this is my journey which my mother and father started from conception to birth,” said the singer, whose hit songs include The Train Is Coming, Everything I Own, Puppet on a String and Artibella.
Known to most fans as a rocksteady and lovers rock artist, Boothe goes contemporary, trying some dancehall on Journey.
“There is nothing wrong with dancehall music. It’s a 80/20 thing,” he said. According to Boothe, 80 per cent of the genre is good, but the problem is the 20 per cent.
“That 20 per cent can mess you up,” he said.
Through Journey, Boothe is hoping tracks like I Can See Love In Your Eyes, Dancehall Girl and Give Thanks will change the popular notion that Jamaican music is waning.
He says he went all-out to ensure Journey is first-class.
“I’m making sure that I do everything properly. There is no rush to get it on the shelves. From cover art to tracks, it must be great,” Boothe stated.
Journey is expected to be released in October. Boothe’s previous album, Acclaimed, was released six years ago.
