NORWALK – The vibrant sounds of Reggae music will fill the streets of South Norwalk this Thursday as the SoNo Concert Series gets underway.
Presented by SoNo Corporate Center, the summer series–now in its second year–begins on Thursday with a live performance by Mystic Bowie.
Admission is free; however, drinks and food will be available for purchase at participating restaurants, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting six local charities.
“This is an event for the community,” said Stacey Hascoe, assistant director of SoNo Corporate Center and organizer of the event.
“This is not just about listening to good music,” she said. “We all want Norwalk to be strong and thrive, and this is an opportunity to support that effort.”
The Ginger Man, Jeff’s Cuisine, YoBamba, Ralph’s Deli and Crossroads Pizza will donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to Star, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities.
According to Hascoe, this year’s concert series is unique in that each of the six performances, which are scheduled to run through the summer and into October, will benefit a different local charity.
Featured charities include: SoNo Arts Celebration, Norwalk Police Athletic League, P.A.W.S., Norwalk Seaport Organization, and Human Services Council.
