Nayas

On July 20, 2012, Nayas will be at the Fillmore in Silver Spring at 8p.m. to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, and promote their latest CD.

Nayas is a latin reggae group with a smooth reggae vibe. Singing in Spanish, English and Portuguese, their music runs the gamut from traditional reggae to ska. Nominated for the ‘Best Latin Duo/Group’ award in 2009 by the Washington Area Music Association, they continue to impress with their music. The members are from Peru, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, and the U.S.

Originally formed in 2001, the band has become a staple member of the DC scene, playing regularly at the 9:30 club, The State Theater, Black Cat, and the Kennedy Center. A staple in the Adams Morgan area, they are occasionally also known to the locals as Bossa Bistro, after the place where they perform frequently.

They have shared the stage with Calle 13, Yerba Buena, Julieta Venegas, and Molotov. To find out what has made them a favorite band in the area, get your ticket to their concert from this site, and learn more about them on their website.
