No Doubt
The big announcements keep coming from Gwen Stefani and the boys of No Doubt, who are set to release their first album in 11 years this fall.
Unsurprisingly, Gwen Stefani’s pitch-perfect howls are layered over horns and pulsating drum beats as “Settle Down” quickly finds a reggae groove and sticks with it for six minutes. The Major Lazer-produced track sounds fresh and progressive, without ever losing that trademark No Doubt snarl.
The music video for “Settle Down” is scheduled to premiere tonight at 8 p.m. on the E! network. No Doubt’s new album, “Push and Shove,” will be released on Sept. 25. It’s the long-awaited follow-up to 2001’s “Rock Steady,” which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 2.8 million copies sold to date according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The band has a slew of television performances lined up in the coming weeks, starting with the Teen Choice Awards on July 22, “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on July 26 and “Good Morning America” on July 27. They will also perform at the iHeartRadio festival in September.
