Jamaica’s Usain Bolt has ran a blistering 9.63 seconds to claim gold and successfully defend his title as Olympic champion.

This is an Olympic record.

Bolt was his usual playful self before the start of the race in a packed stadium in London and he did not disappoint the fans.

Jamaica’ Yohan Blake equaled his personal 9.75 to finish second.

American Justin Gatlin was third in a personal best 9.79.

Asafa Powell ended last in 11.99 after slowing down.
