Kadeem Wilson
Kadeem Wilson—

Kadeem Wilson, no stranger to acting or the big screen, having had a role in the popular Jamaican movie Ghett’A Life, is sure to woo theatre audiences when the gospel musical Backslider opens this weekend at Theatre Place in New Kingston.

Wilson, part of the four-member cast, was baptised at 13 and was introduced to acting and singing while at church. The actor, who is from a family of actors (his cousin Sheldon Shepherd played the lead role in Better Mus’ Come) will help tell an intriguing story about real life and real choices.

The musical, written by Devon Morgan and directed by Pablo Hoilett, is centred on two young, devout Christians who migrate to England and face situations that challenge their faith.
