Kaplan asked hundreds of their current and previous students whether watching television and films, playing video games and listening to music, among other things, helped them.

The study showed that listening to music helped 80 per cent of them learn or improve english. Fourteen per cent of participants cited Marley songs such as No Woman, No Cry, Stir It Up, and One Love as critical to understanding the language.

Marley finished ahead of Michael Jackson and Madonna who polled 11 per cent and eight per cent, respectively.

“Our father’s legendary music has touched and moved so many people. It’s exciting to find out that his story-telling lyrics can enhance students’ understanding of the English language,” Marley’s daughter, Cedella, Marley was quoted as saying in the article.
