The Barclays Center will be rocking and hips will be rolling on Friday November 2, 2012, to the pulsating rhythms of Caribbean music, when renowned promoter and radio host Dahved Levy, puts his stamp on the newly minted venue in the heart of downtown Brooklyn. 


With an all-star cast of Caribbean acts in tow, the Caribbean Fever Music Festival will be the perfect follow up to the much heralded sold-out opening nights by hip-hop icon Jay-Z, who has left the city in a frenzy after his eight nights of sold out shows to open this historic venue. This past week saw an equally par-excellent [2 night] performances by the incomparable Barbara Streisand. Now everyone wants a taste and on Friday November 2, Caribbean folks and lovers of Caribbean music and culture get their turn. It will indeed be historic!

As a promoter, Dahved continually raises the bar and continually breaks new ground. He has staged numerous exclusive events in equally exclusive venues; from the USS Intrepid Sea-Air Space Museum, to Tavern On The Green Restaurant, and Cipriani’s, bringing some of the biggest acts in Caribbean music to these stages.  Next up—Barclays Center.  Billed the Biggest, the First, the Best, patrons can look forward to a night of non-stop partying and revelry. The party mood, the vibe will be right and fans won’t be left wanting.

The all star cast of Machel Montano, Mr. Vegas, Cham, Morgan’s Heritage, Alison Hinds, Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick, make a decidedly electric line-up. The Royal Family of reggae, Morgan Heritage makes their grand return to the stage that night ending their over 3 year hiatus.

Caribbean night will also honor Diaspora’s luminaries including Dr. Velma Scantlebury-White, the nation’s first black female transplant surgeon; The Honorable Dr. Una S.T. Clarke, esteemed former New York City legislator; Mr. Irvin Burghie, noted composer and lyricist; radio pioneers: Gil & Pat Bailey, Francine Chin,  Pat McKay, Clinton Lindsay and a host of other industry and community stalwarts.
