Dancehall artist Tahz is getting ready for the next chapter of his career. The talented deejay who hails from the second city of Montego Bay has spent a number of years carving a niche for himself on the local dancehall music scene.
He is viewed by many industry insiders and fans as one of the most creative and talented emerging dancehall acts. Despite having recorded a number of popular songs such as Candle In The Wind and Rest In Peace, mainstream success is yet to come but Tahz remains undaunted as he focuses on the next chapter of his career.
Tahz has now fully taken on the role of music producer for his very own Glendevon Records imprint. The label is currently enjoying some amount of success as his recently released single titled One Pants is currently blowing up FM radio.
The video for One Pants is also doing very well, it is currently in the number 6 position on Suzie Q’s popular Video Alley Show which is aired weekly on TVJ.
In a release to the press Tahz said operating the label will not hamper his development as an artist.
“I know a lot of people might think that I am taking on too much at this stage of my career. But running a label and producing music can only help to enhance my career; it’s just another avenue through which I can showcase my talent. Music production isn’t really something new for me, I’ve produced several songs for myself and other artists in the past and I have also directed most of my music videos, said Tahz.
Tahz is currently working on a number of projects for his label as well as for other producers. Listed among his soon to be released tracks are, Travel The World for Glendevon Records, Parables Of The Streets for DJ Frass Records and a scorching combination with fast rising dancehall diva Stacious called Love Me for Hits On The Roof productions.
Tahz is also scheduled to perform on an event called Dons & Divas which will be held at Club Sky View on Saturday December 22nd in St Thomas. On Wednesday December 26th he will perform at 3B’s Family Fun Day at Golden Springs.
The new year will see him hosting an event called Clean Every Day Mi Wake Up. This event will feature British based sound-systems Lord Gelly, Mafia Love and World Power alongside local top Jock Liquid and popular dancehall selector Boom Boom along with DJ Peanuts from Sun City Radio on the January 12th 20013 at Club Aphrodisiac in Portmore.
