Reports are that lead attorney for Glendale Goshia Gordon popularly known as Busy Signal, K.D. Knight; Queens Council has allegedly stated that the dancehall artist is expected back in Jamaica within two weeks.
There was much anticipation that Busy Signal would be back in the island today following rumors that he had been released.
Busy Signal was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport in Jamaica in May due to an extradition warrant from the US and refused to contest his extradition to the United States.
It is said that the artist was on drug charges in the US when he absconded bail ten years ago.
He was then extradited to the US on June 19 after the legal team of KD Knight and Charles ‘Advoket’ Ganga-Singh argued that he could only be charged with absconding bail as was outlined on his extradition papers. He was found guilty of absconding bail and received a six-month prison sentence
However, he was to serve two months in prison as he has already spent four months in jail awaiting his trial.
Recently there has been much anticipation that he would be arriving in the island November 8.
However, Mr. Knight allegedly stated that the artist is still in custody of the US government and expects the artist will be released in two weeks.
