Beres Hammond and Toots and The Maytals are among the headliners for the February 1-2 Ragga Muffins Festival in Rotorua, New Zealand.

According to a statement from organisers, Italian singer Albarosie and emerging American reggae band Rebelution are also on the sixth staging of the show.

Hip-hop star Lauryn Hill and British band UB40 are part of the eclectic line-up.

First held in 2008, the Ragga Muffins Festival played major Australian cities including Melbourne and Australia as well as New Zealand.

Last year, founder and promoter Andrew McManus cancelled the Australian leg of the festival, due to the no-show of some reggae artistes. McManus had threatened legal action against these acts.
