It was written by deejay Rich Ras, who also appears on the track, and produced by Tremor Maddanize.
SQUIRE… it’s a topic that persons can easily relate to

According to Squire, it addresses “a topic that persons can easily relate to” given the high rate of single mothers in Jamaica.
Originally from Spanish Town, she went into music full time after completing studies at the Eastern School of Commerce and Undergrad College.
“I have always wanted to do music. I sang on the church choir and always tried performing around the community,” she said.
Squire started recording in the 1990s for producer Kenneth Rose, but it was not until she did the track Bloody Murder in 2007 for producer Shane Brown that the mother of two children got attention from her peers.
“The journey has been good and bad. It has its ups and its downs. The love that I have for the music is the good part,” she pointed out.
Squire has recorded for several producers including Max Romeo, Don Corleon and DJ Wayne.
With veteran deejay U Roy, she features on Girl I’ve Got a Date, a cover of Alton Ellis’s rocksteady classic. That song is from U Roy’s latest album, Pray Fi Di People, which was released in October by French company, Soul Beats Records.
