Rebelution, a rock reggae group hailing from Santa Barbara, Calif., will perform May 4 at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown.J Boog and Hot Rain will open the show with doors opening 7:30 p.m.Tickets cost $17.50 in advance and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday. The price goes up to $20 day of the show.
Rebelution released their first studio album, “Courage to Grow,” in 2007, which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Reggae Albums Chart. The single “Safe and Sound” earned heavy spins on KRoq radio in L.A. The band released their third studio album, “Peace of Mind,” in January 2012.
Rebelution’s reggae jam blend has become popular at summer music festivals. The band has been matched as openers for artists such as Slightly Stoopid and Lauryn Hill.
