International Record Store Day expands to the Caribbean for the first time as Tuff Gong International prepares to host the event at its headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica. International Record Store Day is a growing movement in other parts of the world that focuses on celebrating the record store experience and the unique relationship between music and its fans.
This public event takes place Saturday, April 20th from noon to 5pm. The day’s program includes the following:
- Special guest selectors YaadCore (of Yaadcore Music), Nicco (of FAME FM), and Zion Train
- Special flash sales of some of the hottest artists in the company’s catalog including Bruno Mars, Mindless Behavior, Maroon 5, Wiz Khalifa, Nicki Minaj, and FloRida
- A special preview of the newly remastered Bob Marley classic, KAYA (official release date April 23rd)
Tuff Gong will also give away prizes and let visitors get a taste of the thousands of titles in the international catalog that Tuff Gong represents exclusively in the Caribbean. Partners for this event include Digicel, REtv, FAME, Marley Coffee, and ROOTS FM.
