The Informative History Man, along with his management, 5 Rivers Recording Label in Canada, has made a donation of a television to Mona Rehabilitation Centre.

History Man and his management saw the great need for the televisionset in the recreation area at the centre.

“We don’t get much support and we need it so much. Even with the television, it means so much to us because we have to go all the way to Papine to sit in a bar to watch television and, remember, some of us are missing a limb or two,” said Winsome Beckford, one of the administrators at the centre.

“The men here seem to be more excited because they love their football, and they never get to see it because it’s hard for them to go on the main to watch it. So I am excited, but I know the men are even more excited,” said Beckford.

The Mona Rehabilitation Centre is a home for many and, according to History Man, the needs are even larger than the numbers.

COMPULSION TO HELP

“I have been friends of Ms Beckford for quite some time now. When she shared that they needed some form of entertainment in the recreation area, I had to purchase the television,” History Man said.

“But they need other things, too, like toiletries and food items, which are essential.”

5 Rivers Label has also pledged barrels of toiletries and food for the centre.

Beckford said she was grateful for all donations made to the centre and encourages persons to keep donating,

“Please feel free to donate to the centre. You can call the administrative assistant here or speak to Miss Opal Minott, who is a social worker, at 1-876-970-1760.”
