Jus Wicked, the debut album from the band YAHBA, is being hailed as “one of the sweetest reggae albums around”. The album features legends  including Jackie Mittoo, Mikey Chung, Dean Fraser, Robbie Lyn, Boris Gardner, Willi Williams, Brian Atkinson, Spread Bedassie, Pam Hall and others.

YAHBA calls their music reggae soul and it includes a variety of tunes that give the listener a little ska, a little easy listening, a little Jazz and even dub-wise.

The first track, Everyday Sunshine, was written and recorded by the late Jackie Mittoo and Executive Producer, Tony Stines, who is the CEO and ‘music master’ behind YAHBA. Stines has been a singer, songwriter and producer for artistes such as Jackie Mittoo and Willi Williams.

The track with Jackie Mittoo was recorded at RCA studios in Toronto in 1975. According to Stines, “This is the right time to release that work of art”. The other tracks were recorded at Harry J Studio, Fab 5 Studio and Mixing Lab in Kingston.

The ‘Jus Wicked’ album is for music lovers who enjoy relaxing to groovy melodies. It highlights the talent and energy of Jamaicans who made the reggae music industry great, giving it the right accent it needs right now.

The 13-track album includes love songs, a wedding song and more for the music palate. Pam Hall is amazing with her background vocals, making a great blend with lead singer, Orville ‘Bagga’ Case on most of the tracks. The talent that was brought together for the album is second to none, including the noted creativity of engineer Stephen Stewart.

YAHBA will launch its debut album ‘Jus Wicked’ at Bleu Essence, King’s Plaza, on Tuesday, June 11, an event that will bring together some legends playing live music for fans, media, friends and music industry personalities. Enjoy the vibes and relax, its central – in the middle of Half Way Tree.

The album can be picked up at Monarch Pharmacy’s three locations in Kingston; Barbican, Sovereign and Tropical Plaza. Stines confirms that this is just the beginning of more great music to come, and YAHBA will be a performing and a touring band with musical clout that can do no wrong….in other words it’s ‘jus wicked!’
