The shows start in Maui at the Republik Music Festival. Other Pacific dates follow in Honolulu, Oahu and Kauai.
Next stop is the US mainland for shows in Washington state, Oregon, California and Nevada.
The group are promoting GYI’s Set Up Shop Vol 1 compilation album, which was released in February.
All the artists are featured on the 14-song set. Black-Am-I, who has two songs (Modern Day Freedom and Sampson Strength) on the album, believes the shows will benefit the artists.
“It’s an opportunity to showcase the music an’ hear how the people think about it,” he told the Jamaica Observer from Florida.
Black-Am-I, who has been recording with GYI since 2007, hails from Nine Miles, St Ann, the birthplace of the Marley siblings’ father, reggae legend Bob Marley.
