THE deejay/singer team of Tanto Metro and Devonte is working on a comeback album which they hope to release late this year.

Request is the name of the set, which is being produced by Sly and Robbie for their Taxi label.

In an interview with Splash, Devonte noted that music and the music business have evolved. He says it is important he and Tanto Metro move with the times.

“We will still try to keep the roots as we haven’t moved fully away from it. It’s all about keeping the authenticity,” he said.

The duo is currently promoting their latest single, Already Know. Other songs expected to be released before Request are Rub Her Down and a cover of Freddie McGregor’s Push Come To Shove.

Mark Wolfe (Tanto Metro) and Wayne Passley (Devonte) were hot during the 1990s dancehall explosion. Their first hit, Everyone Falls in Love, made the Billboard pop and R&B charts in 1999.

The subsequent album of the same name was released that year by Sony Epic Records.
