Kingston, Jamaica—-
Bajan Roots Revival artist, Lady Virtue, is committed to her dream of becoming an internationally recognized Reggae artist and has released her new single, More and More.
The singer, who broke into the Jamaican market with her track Tek Di Pressure Off featuring Luciano, says she will always strive to be a source of positive entertainment for Caribbean people. Like her previous single, More and More is a song chronicling the needs of persons living in the region, and throughout the world.
More and More, which was produced and co-written by Rickman Warren of Jamplified Records, emphasizes the importance of self-worth and the need to persevere in difficult situations. The introductory verses of the tune sufficiently set the pace for the kind of message the song seeks to deliver to its audience: “Look in the mirror and you’ll see what you’re worth”.
The rhythm of the song and the melodious sound of Lady Virtue’s voice is a winning combination and the impact of the song is intensified due to this immaculate fusion. Lady Virtue admits that she had initially gone to the studio to record another song – “The idea for More and More came from a song that I brought to Rick entitled “Do Betta” which was then tweaked by Rickman More and More came to being.
More and More, which is laced over the sharps knocks of a Kette Drums, uses harmonic chords to complete the musical escape that Virtue seeks to deliver. On the track Lady Virtue is at home, beckoning to your ear with rhythmically pleasing lyrics. The melody of the track is on point and features Rickman Warren’s signature compositions accompanying Lady Virtue perfectly.
Producer, Rickman, says Lady Virtue – who got in touch with him through the record label’s website in 2011 after seeing a video they did for Queen Ifrica – says the Bajan songstress is growing as an artist: “Lady Virtue is talented, disciplined, dedicated, and most importantly, she treats her music career like a business (as she should). Those qualities will definitely set her apart from many aspiring artists, and she’s already built up a fan-base in Barbados that keeps growing exponentially every day”.
This fan base seems to be growing as Lady Virtue’s “Tek Di Pressure off” single has received good feedback and airplay so far, however she says “there is always room for improvement so the hard work has not finished yet but I am tremendously pleased with the response I have gotten so far but still have far to go”.
The focus on disseminating positive messages will always be incorporated in her music, “I want full impact for all my songs because all my songs are written and produced to create mental or physical change. They are songs about reality, so the more exposed they are, I feel a sense of fulfillment in my journey”, explained Virtue.
Fans can look out for the upcoming music video for More and More which was filmed in Jamaica and Dominica
