After a whirlwind breakout year, ‘concious’ music recording artist, Chronixx and Zinc Fence Redemption band, will hit the Reggae Sumfest stage on Saturday, July 27. The budding Reggae star is slated to perform on the event’s coveted International Night 2 alongside International star Miguel, Grammy award winning Damian ‘Jr. Gong’  Marley and crowd pleaser Romain Virgo.

Born Jamar McNaughton, Chronixx was introduced to the music industry from an early age through his musician father.  His father’s mentorship afforded the youngster the opportunity to observe the behind the scenes work of Norris Man and the legendary Gregory Isaacs. By age 14,Chronixx began producing popular beats while lending his vocals as a back-ground singer for artistes such as Jermaine Edwards and Lutan Fyah.

It was longtime pal and producer at Zincfence Records, Teflon who encouraged the then underground singer to take his vocal talent to the next level and record his own tunes professionally. Together the dynamic duo are best known for releasing the hit singles WarriorThey Don’t Know and the chart topper, Behind Curtain.

While this will mark the musician’s first appearance on the Reggae Sumfest stage, the 20 year old is no stranger to live performances. Over the past year, Chronixx and Zincfence Redemption developed a massive international following, which supported the need for a headlining, mini tour in Europe and a philanthropic stop in Kenya, where the artiste operated as a Peace Ambassador during the country’s national elections. The multi-talented singer, songwriter and Zincfence Redemption have also performed at various local events, including Digicel’s Bob Marley Birthday tribute show and the Jamaica Epicurean Escape. The group’s on stage chemistry would suggest years of acquired experience, but in truth is the result of pure, unadulterated talent.

The promoters of the renowned music festival are particularly excited for the young professional’s performance stating, “Reggae Sumfest is very proud of its support of young and upcoming artistes over the years.  We have witnessed the development of many artistes. Chronixx while young and upcoming is a bit different as he has already had quite a prolific musical career at such a young age. He is the kind of artiste that we believe will be around for a very long time and will definitely be part of Reggae Sumfest many times in the years to come.   We are very pleased to present him this year and look forward to watching him grow and excel even more in the future” said Executive Director of Summerfest Productions, Johnny Gourzong.

This star studded line-up this year, will showcase the young and dynamic hit makers emerging today, including Grammy Award winning R&B singer Miguel, Reggae artistes; Damian ” Jr Gong ” Marley & The Ghetto Youths International Crew, Romain Virgo, Nature, and dynamic performers No-Maddz. Dancehall newcomers Baby Tash and Blade are preparing to wow Sumfest audiences alongside young stars like; Tommy Lee, Popcaan, Aidonia, QQ, RDX and not to mention headliners Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Lady Saw, I-Octane and more.
