Firebrand reggae artist Anthony B was in top form at the recently held Reggae on the River festival in California. The deejay delivered a creditable hour and a half performance which was laced with old hits as well as current singles.
In a release to the media, Anthony B was quite upbeat about his performance.
‘It was a monster performance, very receptive and welcoming’, said Anthony B.
The Rastafarian deejay released his new album Tribute to Legends on August 3. Songs from the album that received great response at the festival include Imagine, Can’t Stop Loving You, Suspicious Minds and Real Situation.
Commenting on the response to the album, Anthony B noted ‘The response has been great. Fans have been asking where they can purchase the album. The album has been doing very well since its release’.
The artist is currently in the midst of his stateside tour which is aimed at promoting the new album. Upon completion of the North American dates, Anthony B will embark on a Caribbean and European trek.
Among his current US dates include shows in Boston (August 9), California (August 11 at the Monterey Bay Reggae Festival); and
Tribute to Legends was mostly produced by Anthony Blair. It also features production work from Jyorken Kennedy of Masterone/Born Fire Music as well as Train Line Records among others.
The 16 track album is now available on ITunes. It is also being distributed by VP Records.
It features covers of songs from ten musical legends. They include reggae icon Bob Marley, ska/rock steady pioneers Toots and the Maytals, the late John Lennon, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley and Peter Tosh, Ini Kamoze and Israel Vibration.
Tracks on Tribute to Legends include Burn Iniquity, Pomps and Pride, Suspicious Minds, Can’t Stop Loving You, Oh Jah Remember I, Stepping Razor, Imagine, Psalm a Day and Trouble You a trouble me.
