Chuck Turner releases new Single “Tribulation” produced by Mightyful13 Records

Chuck Turner was born in Jamaica. He is a talented Musician, Singer, and Songwriter. Chuck Turner first entered the music industry at the tender age of 11, (1974) as a freelance drummer playing with various bands.

From age 11 to 24 (1974 -1987) he worked with several recording studios, Tuff Gong, Dynamic Sounds, and Channel One, to name a few. The first band Turner played with was Black Culture. He also played in hotels with the Zenith Band, and appeared on many stage shows as a drummer with the Zenith Band including Reggae Sunsplash in 1984. Playing at the Sea Wind Hotel with a band called The Tony D’Costa Affair, Turner was given the chance to sing Reggae, R&B, Soul and Jazz, being coached by D’Costa himself.

His greatest inspirations come from drummer Sly Dunbar, Reggae great Dennis Brown, the talented American artist Stevie Wonder, and Tony D’Costa. During this period he began to sing with Sound Systems such as King Jammy$, Stereo Mars and Stereo One. This encouraged him to continue singing and writing.

Turner’s first release on vinyl came in 1983, and then again in 1985 for producer Top Ranking. King Jammy$ recorded him in 1987, producing Turner’s first hit song “I Need You”, which was followed by hit after hit, including “Run Around Girl” and “Tears”. He has three albums to his credit between 1987 and 1989, “One The Hard Way” for King Jammy$, “Presenting Chuck Turner” for Trump Jack and “Them Trying To Conquer I” for Crat Productions. Touring as a singer, Turner has performed on stage shows and in dances in London, Canada, Jamaica and the U.S (New York, Florida, Connecticut, Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey, among others)

Some of the entertainers he has worked with include: Lt. Stitchie, Charlie Chaplin, Josey Wales, Leroy Smart, Courtney Melody, Sugar Minott, Admiral Bailey, Frankie Paul, Super Cat, Shabba Ranks, and a host of others. He has also shared the stage with  American artists including Chaka Kahn, New Edition, Ronnie Dyson and Johnny Gill. As a songwriter and BMI affiliate, he has many titles to his credit, including: Youthman Struggling, Young Girl, Raggamuffin, Be My Lover, Vanity, Them Trying To Conquer I, Forever Girl, Love Me Or Leave Me, Come Rock With Me, Run Around Girl, and We Rule.

At the peak of a most promising career, 1989 proved to be a very trying year for this artist with two mishaps that nearly took  his life.  It has taken him many years to fully recover from what most would have never, but not to be discouraged, he has once more  returned to his first love which is music. Chuck Turner  is an artist with a one of a kind voice, who must be given the chance to prove that singing and songwriting is his destiny, not only with Reggae, but in the R&B and Soul market as well.

Admired by men and women alike for his cotton candy voice, smooth style, and originality, anyone hearing him sing cannot deny that he is a great artist. Moreover, there are bigger and better things to come from Chuck Turner. Comfortable on stage as well as in the studio, he continues to do what he knows best which is singing and writing. He has a gift from God that he would like to share with the world, so massive open your ears and listen.

In 2013 he team up with Fitzroy Francis of Mightyful13 Records for the release of his latest single “Tribulation”.
The new Single is now available digital worldwide via VP Records’s Vpal online distribution, and has already entered the New York Foundation Radio Network Music Chart, compiled by the legendary Clinton Lindsay. Chuck Turner is again poised to continue his musical mission.
