Imagem Music USA has signed a worldwide, multi-year administration agreement with Grammy Award winning artist Jimmy Cliff.
Jimmy Cliff was born in St. James, Jamaica. At the age of 13 he moved to Kingston, in order to pursue music and record his songs. A year later Jimmy Cliff had his first #1 hit “Hurricane Hattie”. In the 50 years since, Cliff has brought Reggae music to the international stage through the release of more than 18 solo albums including: Jimmy Cliff (1969), Another Cycle (1971), Give Thankx(1978), Cliff Hanger (1985), Humanitarian (1999) and Rebirth (2012). His most recent album,Rebirth, won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album of 2012. Cliff has showcased his talents outside of music through his pursuit of acting. Cliff has appeared in and contributed songs to the soundtracksfor “The Harder They Come” (1972) and “Club Paradise” (1986). In “Club Paradise” he starred alongside Robin Williams and contributed songs such as “Club Paradise”, “American Plan”, and “Brightest Star”.
Jimmy Cliff is heading out on the “Many Rivers Crossed” tour starting in September, making stops in Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York along with a free show in Santa Monica. Cliff previously toured with Dave Matthews Band in 2012. For more information go to:www.jimmycliff.com.
