REGGAE sound house Judgement Yard makes its second South African tour next month after a highly successful debut in Cape Town last month.
Scheduled for September 8 at Marafco Lounge in Pretoria, the gig is set to be preceded by a welcome party to be attended by a number of South Africa-based Zimbabwean footballers.
One of the organisers of the event, Effort Mukaro said they were thrilled to be working with Judgement Yard for the second time after the Cape Town gig.
Mukaro said they have roped in soccer players to promote interaction among Zimbabweans in South Africa.
“The VIP welcome party will be attended by Tendai Tanyanyiwa, Washington Arubi, Willard Katsande, Thomas Svesve and Obadiah Tarumbwa, among others,” he said.
“DJs Casper, Conrad and Godsend will entertain revellers at the welcome party.”
He said they managed to secure sponsorship from Hyundai and Zambezi, Cappello Hatfield Square — who host the party and Frimelte Beverages.
Judgement Yard’s stakes seems to be on an upward spiral as they are also expected to tour the United Kingdom in December.
If the UK tour succeeds, it will become only their third foreign and first overseas tour after years of perfecting their act in Zimbabwe.
DJ Flavour of Judgement Yard said his camp was excited to have finally managed to break barriers.
“Our first foreign show was highly successful, so it has encouraged us to work harder. This is only the beginning,” he said. DJ Flavour will be travelling with Etherton B for the tour.
