SHAGGY’s new album got a shot in the arm last week when You Girl, a track from the set, debuted at number one on Billboard’s Digital Reggae Singles chart.
The song also features American soul singer Ne-Yo.

Billboard reports You Girl sold over 4,216 copies in its opening week.
Co-produced by Sly and Robbie, Sting International and Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden, it is the second single from Sly and Robbie Presents: Shaggy Out of Many, One Music, Shaggy’s new album which is scheduled for release on September 24.
Fight the Feeling, its lead song featuring Beres Hammond, topped reggae charts in New York and South Florida.
Shaggy’s previous album was 2011’s Grammy-nominated Summer in Kingston.
Over the years, Shaggy has collaborated with several high-profile American acts including rapper Eve (on a remake of Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun); Get My Party On featuring Chaka Khan; Shut Up and Dance with will.i.am; Don’t Ask Her That with Nicole Scherzinger; What’s Love featuring Akon; Fired Up with Pitbull and Luv Me Luv Me which was done with Janet Jackson.
Shaggy is one of pop music’s top selling acts of the last 20 years. His Boombastic and Hot Shots albums returned multi-platinum sales.
