HAWAIIAN singer/songwriter Hirie has entered the Billboard Reggae Album chart with her self-titled debut album, a joint release by Roots Musician Records and VPAL.

The 17-song album is a blend of Pacific island roots-reggae and pop. It comes in at number nine on the Billboard reggae table and peaked at number four on the iTunes reggae chart.

Born in the Philippines but raised in Italy and Hawaii, Hirie considers herself a true island girl. She says her sound is inspired by life experiences.

“Hirie is a lifestyle, and I want people to love and become accustomed to it. The island way of living is contagious; healing the mind, body and spirit,” she said. “The same goes for its music. When people hear my songs, I want them to feel disconnected from their troubles.”

Sensi Boy is the first single from her album. A video was recently released.

Hirie is scheduled to start a one-month tour of the United States in October.
