KINGSTON, Jamaica — The social media tirade against Television Jamaica (TVJ) continues tonight as viewers say they were once again unable to watch American talent show, The Voice, during live airing time.

TVJ released a statement today advising viewers to tune into partner station, RE-TV to watch the show live.  However, RE-TV failed to deliver citing technical difficulties.

Some Twitter users said that RE-TV was up and running a little after 8:00pm, but the “quality was horrible”.

“So TVJ told us to watch The Voice on RE TV, I turn to RE-TV and all I’m seeing are commercials,” one twitter user said.

“I’m wondering if I have a different RE-TV from everybody else,” said another tweet.

According to other twitter users, a notice was issued on RE TV for viewers to turn to Jamaica News Network (JNN) to see the show.

“Ok, they said switch to JNN for the broadcast but there is no sound,” a viewer stated.

An abundance of tweets expressing disappointment and frustrations followed.

The Voice is aired on US network NBC Mondays and Tuesdays between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Jamaican singer Tessanne Chin, who was featured on tonight’s show, is a contestant on Adam Levine’s team.

TVJ purchased the rights to air The Voice, which has resulted in cable network provider, Flow Jamaica to block NBC.

Jamaicans may wait until 9:00pm to watch a delayed broadcast on TVJ.
