New York, New York—
Without a question, Irish and Chin bring the ‘WOW’ factor to Caribbean entertainment. Incredibly, Irish and Chin has outdone themselves with their latest feat, securing one of the most impactful line ups to grace a New York stage in ages. The iconic event producers have added exclusive Reggae giants King Yellowman, Josey Wales “The General,” Johnny Osbourne, Luciano “The Messenger” and Michigan & Smiley to the already fiery “Reeewind & Come Again” line up, which is set for Saturday, November 9, 2013 during Veteran’s Day Weekend at Amazura in Queens, New York.
What makes the line up extremely high caliber and profile are the rare appearences by 80’s Rub-a-dub favorites like King Yellowman, Johnny Osbourne and Michigan & Smiley. In fact, “Reeewind & Come Again” will mark Josey Wale’s first U.S. performance in more than 20 years. A task more than a year in the making, Irish and Chin made it possible for Josey Wales to return to America and once again entertain his legion of fans. Additionally, Yellowman and Johnny Osbourne have infrequent U.S. performances. So, their scores of fans are also in for a treat. Luciano “The Messenger” will also grace the “Reeewind” stage for the first time ever, injecting his impressive roots vocals and presence to the event.
“We owe it to our patrons to have the best acts on our event line ups,” says Chin of Irish and Chin. “Our efforts paid off and after going the extra mile to pull ‘Reeewind’ together in a grand way, the bar for live Reggae entertainment has officially been raised.”
You truly can’t get bigger than this, especially when these stalwarts are joining greats like Brigadier Jerry, Sister Nancy, Charlie Chaplin & General Trees. At the core of it all are historical sounds King stur Gav (w/U-Roy), Jah Love (Ilawi) and King Addies (Danny Dread), providing the non-stop Rub-a-Dub riddims for this highly skilled ensemble of deejays and singers to ride all night.
With more than 4 hours of live entertainment set for “Reeewind,” fans will get to experience the best that ever did it. As the majority of these acts rose to prominence in the 70’s and 80’s from sound system culture, this fifth installment of “Reeewind & Come Again” — appropriately dubbed ’80’s Impact’ will bring the Rub-a-Dub era to life.
