Rita Marley, widow of reggae king Bob Marley, is urging Africans and black people in the diaspora to promote unity in the African continent.
She made the call at the fifth annual The Fela Debates in Lagos, Nigeria, on Monday. The debates were titled “Movement of the People — The Fela and Bob Marley Perspectives”.

Marley stated that unity and Pan-Africanism were common to both Fela’s and Marley’s music.
“An ardent part of Bob Marley’s dream was Africa Unite and, we must join hands and hearts to keep unity across the African continent, the diaspora and the entire world,” Marley was quoted as saying.
