Tessanne Chin, winner of NBC’s The Voice (Season 5), is the first act confirmed by Summerfest Productions Limited to perform at Reggae Sumfest 2014.

The Jamaican songstress took her countrymen and women on a euphoric journey as she wowed the world and gave her coach, Adam Levine of Maroon 5 fame, his second win on the American reality TV singing competition.

Summerfest’s executive director, Johnny Gourzong, is excited about snagging Chin as a headline act for the festival’s line-up, stating, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to present Tessanne at Reggae Sumfest 2014. Seeing how engaged our fans were during the competition, it made perfect sense to book her.

“With her immense talent, we have no doubt that she will continue to do Jamaica proud and that her career will soar in the months and years ahead.”

Tessanne’s upcoming Reggae Sumfest appearance will mark her third performance on the festival. Coming off her much-talked-about performance on Shaggy and Friends 2014 on January 4, and her homecoming concert on January 12, it is expected that Tessanne will treat the Sumfest audience to a mind-blowing set, particularly with her highly anticipated album due for release in late March.

Negotiations are now ongoing with a number of key reggae/dancehall and international acts, with a preliminary line-up expected to be revealed by February. The annual festival, now in its 22nd year, will take place in Montego Bay from July 13-19.
