Busy Signal says he is thankful for the exposure he has received by virtue of Pepsi’s ‘Live for Now’ global campaign that has raised awareness for him and his song Watch Out Fi Dis (Bumaye).
The song, released last April and was already a hit, rocketed to even greater heights once it was used as the theme for a Pepsi campaign that features some of the world’s best football players, including Lionel Messi, Jack Wilshere, David Luiz, Sergio Ramos, Robin van Persie, and Jamaica’s own Kemar Lawrence.
In January, Pepsi unveiled details of their superstar 2014 football squad, bringing together an unprecedented wealth of international talent to create one of the most iconic lineups ever.
Nineteen of the world’s greatest players, spanning five continents and nearly 20 countries are uniting with Pepsi to inspire fans the world over to ‘Live For Now’ in 2014.
The international ad campaign has been running for some time now, but just weeks ago a local version, featuring Lawrence and other Jamaican football players, was launched during an announcement that the brand was signing the Harbour View player as its local ambassador.
Speaking with The Gleaner on Monday, days after he finished his latest project with Major Lazer, the entertainer expressed pleasure at what the campaign has done for song.
“It’s a good look, I am thankful,” Busy told The Gleaner.
His latest project with Major Lazer, he said, is expected to be released before or by April this year.
He explained that Pepsi, using the song, has even greater meaning to him, as it was only a couple of years ago that he worked on the Pepsi Bubbla commercials that aired here in Jamaica, and now what has happened with this latest project has been overwhelming.

“The world is attracted to Watch Out Fi Dis,” he said, adding that he is hoping to be in Brazil for the World Cup this summer because of the appeal of the song and the success of the campaign.
“The song has reached out to places like New Zealand, Brazil, to people from all the regions of the world. The song has touched so many lives and so many of my fans from across the globe. it’s just a blessing,” he said.
And as is usually the case with him, Busy reveals that he is also in studio with several other projects.
“Right now, I am just locked in and doing work,” he said.
