REGGAE singer Mary Isaacs is anticipating a positive response to her soon-to-be released single Together Again.

The track, co-produced by herself and Stephen Stewart of Harry J Studio on the Irie Sound Music, is scheduled for a mid-March release date. Both are credited as writers.

She said the song is about two lovers who, after calling it quits on the relationship, yearn for each other.

“They realised they made the wrong decision to part. They were truly destined for each other. This song is about the reunion of two hearts, of love and happiness,” she said.

Isaacs, now in her 50’s, returned to Jamaica from United Stated in 2000. She quickly immersed herself in the music but received a rude awakening.

“I never did proper research before returning home. I was so excited at new opportunity to do music full-time … I should have done more research/prep work to see/learn of the nuances of the industry,” she told the Jamaica Observer.

According to her, dancehall got the lion’s share of airplay.

“Despite the superior production/talent…lots of good music simply did not get airplay,” she said.

She said now the momentum is with the singers.

“With the release of this new single, hopefully I’ll get another chance at spreading my wings, voice and works to those who enjoy what I have to offer. If it doesn’t jive, don’t think I’m going to lie down and die,” she said.

Hailing from Kingston, she migrated to the United States in 1969 where she honed her musical skills.

She has since released You and I and A Little Bit of Heaven.
