KINGSTON, Jamaica —
Eddy Thomas, co-founder of Jamaica’s National Dance Theatre Company (NDTC) has died.
An NDTC spokesperson said that Thomas died at his home in Montego Bay, St James on Thursday. He was 81 years old.
Thomas along with the late Professor, Rex Nettleford co-founded the NDTC with 16 other founding members in 1962.
The NDTC spokesperson added that prior to forming the dance company, Thomas co-created the Roots and Rhythms Show with Nettleford in celebration of the nation’s thrust toward Independence.
