SINGER/producer Max Romeo will relaunch his Charmax music label at his home in Treadways, St Catherine, on Friday.

A new album, Father and Son, by the veteran roots artist and his son Rominal, will also be released. The set is Charmax’s first release since the upgrade of Romeo’s Red Ark studio.

“I feel delighted and proud to be sharing this project with my son who is a part of the young generation working hard to keep the music alive,” Romeo told the Jamaica Observer.

Max Romeo emerged in the early 1970s, a significant period in reggae music. Although he had a British hit in 1969 with the risque Wet Dream, Romeo hit it big the next decade with a flurry of classic songs including Let The Power Fall, Macabee Version and War Ina Babylon.
