GREGORY… “tracks are reggae fused with other Caribbean sounds in addition to R&B and ska.”

VETERAN reggae singer Tony Gregory is set to release his latest album entitled Seasons at the end of this month.

Self-produced and recorded on Gregory’s TarGre music label, the 16-song set includes Hope You Don’t Mind, Wanna Hold You, It’s Written So (featuring his youngest son, Julian) and the title track.

Gregory said he is using the opportunity to introduce his son to the business.

“He is into beats and stuff. I am bringing him into the business,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

Gregory said the tracks are reggae fused with other Caribbean sounds in addition to R&B and ska.

“I spent all of last year recording this album. I enjoyed working with the musicians,” he said.

Noted musicians Dean Fraser, Wayne Armond, Dwight Richards and Nick Desouza are all credited on the album.

A former student from Alpha Boys’ School music programme, Gregory expressed regret at the closure of its dormitory facilities but was happy the music programme was still intact.

“That institution gave me my start in a big way towards my direction in life and I know it did for many others too,” he said.

Gregory, who celebrates over 50 years in the music business, is known for songs including Gypsy Girl, Baby Come Home, You Are Mine (featuring Marcia Griffiths) and Only A Fool Breaks His Own Heart.
