Nevada-based Jamaica-born reggae artist Ras Kronik has topped the New York Reggae chart with his latest single, This Morning (Bona).
The song is the first number one single for the artiste, who had previously scaled the chart with The Real Thing(remix) last year.
An upbeat Ras Kronik, whose real name is Everton Edwards, is thankful to persons who played a role in the success of the song.
“I feel blessed and I am grateful that people enjoy the music that I have created. I am so thankful for all the support that I have received in making the song what it is today,” said Kronik in a media release.
This Morning (Bona) is not only an out-of-the-box hit in New York City but it is also gaining momentum in South Florida and locally, where radio station Irie FM has thrown its muscle behind the track.
“The response has been excellent since this track been out. It is really amazing,” Ras Kronik added.
To capitalise on the success of This Morning, Ras Kronik is already working on a follow-up single. He has already completed two songs, Smile and Beat Of My Heart, featuring California-based reggae journeyman King Hopeton.
This Morning (Bona) was produced by Ras Kronik and Phillip G Henry. It was recorded at Love Bird Productions studio in Las Vegas and mixed and mastered by Alex Krepkikh.
