South Florida’s premiere jazz music station WDNA 88.9FM, is proud to announce the addition of its newest program “Caribbean Jazz Riddims”, to be hosted by Eddy Edwards. The weekly program will be aired on Saturdays, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will debut on Saturday, May 17.

Eddy Edwards to host  WDNA’s New Caribbean Jazz Program

WDNA remains committed to America’s Classical Music-Jazz, alternative voices, and the marriage of entertainment with enrichment. As such, the addition of “Caribbean Jazz Riddims” is in keeping with the Station’s mission of providing quality music, arts and cultural programming to the residents of South Florida and beyond.

“We are delighted to have Eddy Edwards on board as host of Caribbean Jazz Riddims,” stated WDNA General Manager, Maggie Pelleya, “He brings a wealth of broadcast experience and knowledge to WDNA and we look forward to his informative and creative presentation of the program.”

 

Edwards has been in radio in South Florida for 30 years, as producer and presenter of “Caribbean Riddims”, which features a mix of reggae, calypso and soca music, sprinkled with information and interviews with entertainers and community leaders in South Florida’s Caribbean community.  The program was first aired on WVCG 1080 AM in March, 1984 and is currently aired on WZAB 880 AM. He has been recognized for his work in the Caribbean community by many organizations and continues to be a positive impact as CEO of Riddims Marketing, Inc., a full-service marketing and events production company which he founded in 2000.

WDNA 88.9 FM is South Florida’s only source for prime time jazz, and world beat music. For almost 35 years the station has offered award-winning jazz programs and special features such as Café Brazil, and the Reggae Ride.

WDNA is non-profit organization that provides a variety of services to the local community. The station also serves as a platform from which students obtain valuable experience and scholarships to further their music education. WDNA broadcasts and streams – live – 24 hours every day from its Coral Way studios with predominantly locally produced programs.
