ALMOST three years ago, singer Courtney John’s song Lucky Man was the official theme for Unilever’s Axe Lynx Summer Holiday campaign in the United Kingdom.

Recently, the song was chosen for the soundrack to the new movie Chef, starring Jon Favreau, Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jnr.

John, who used the music from The Paragons’ I’m a Worried Man for Lucky Man, said the song is a salute to the timeless sounds of the 1960s.

“I think its just a combination of that timeless period of music. The rocksteady era contributed to Jamaican music and culture and I feel so honoured to have been given the chance to merge this era with that great period of Jamaican music,” he said.

Currently, he is promoting the single Nothing For Free which is from the debut album of his band, The Courtney John Project.
