MARTIN… Brazil easy, easy, easy. Dem have home advantage an’ the side big—-

NINE years ago, Christopher Martin announced himself as a singer to watch when he won the Digicel Rising Stars talent contest.

While friends knew of his vocal ability, others knew about his skill on the football field. He played Colts and Manning Cup as a midfielder for St Jago High School and for St Catherine at the Under 15 and 17 levels.

Martin’s focus next month is on the World Cup in Brazil. And he has no doubt who will win the tournament.

“Brazil… easy, easy, easy. Dem have home advantage an’ the side big!” he boasted. “Plus, dem know if dem don’t win it’s going to be catastrophic.”

Though he “loves the whole team”, Martin foresees a great World Cup for striker Neymar, as well as Marcelo and David Luiz.

He considers defending champions Spain and perennial performers Germany as Brazil’s biggest threats.

“Dem experienced an’ have cool heads,” he said.

Brazil play in Group A against Croatia, Iran and Nigeria. The five-time champions play Croatia in the opening game on June 12 in Sao Paulo.

Martin, whose latest album is Steppin’ Razor, is currently promoting the song Just Like You. But he still finds time to ‘bus’ a sweat’.

Last Sunday, he played in a celebrity football match in Miami alongside fellow entertainers Lukie D, Cobra and Nesbeth.
